the team

The old saying, 'small is beautiful' couldn't be any closer to the truth for Select First and in its heart lies the efforts of two individuals whose penchant for hard work balanced by a customer focused philosophy have got it to where the agency is today.

With no posh receptions, break out zones, or an ever-changing gaggle of account 'handlers', you know who and what you are getting with Select First. Admittedly, neither of them would win a beauty pageant, but at least you can be confident that these two experts will develop a full understanding of your company's strategies, structure and philosophy. In fact, give it time and Select First will become a natural extension of your business unit, not just an outsourced add-on.

Myles Hazebroek MCIPR, Managing Director
Part of Select First since 2002, Myles took over the agency from the retiring owners and added a touch of zing. The result has been an agency that has gone from strength to strength. With a background in the holiday industry, Myles often finds common ground with journalists and he is certainly a vivacious personality, which reflects his enthusiasm and commitment behind his desk.

Married with two young children, Myles spends a lot of his time on his hands and knees, but likes to flex his calves with a run or his biceps with a game of golf when he gets the chance.

Tom Bourne, Creative Director
Tom came along some four years later to take a little heat off Myles and to expand the creative side of the Select First operation. As the editor-in-chief of specialist flooring related publishing house for some seven years previously, Tom has a knowledge that puts him in a good position to liaise with editors and journalists on the finer points. His flair for writing and eye for design means he gets all the geeky parts of the job. He is the first to admit his love of spreadsheets and numbers is limited, but that's where Myles steps in.

Tom has a different outlook on life to Myles currently, though has put in some groundwork to change that. Currently, a passion for sneakers, cars and an appreciation of decent music prevail.

The rest
Of course with a growing client base, Myles and Tom prefer to not bog themselves down in complicated maths and also need someone other than each other to talk to, so a big thanks on behalf of them for Judith's work on accounts and Sarah and Debbie's excellent office management and administration skills.
